Methodological support is needed to understand the concept of gender mainstreaming and the requirements for its implementation in different contexts; and to spread responsibility for integrating a gender perspective into activities and policies. To facilitate capacity building and skills development in gender issues and mainstreaming, SDC provides a set of tools and methodological instruments. The website will facilitate easy access for staff to use and comment on the existing tools, to suggest possible obstacles and tips, and to introduce new ones for discussion.

SDC's main tool to implement the gender equality policy is the "Gender in practice-Toolkit". In addition, there is a selection of sector specific instruments, a guidance and links for the Gender responsive Budgeting-Instrument, and finally the Gender Equality Checklist to collect gender specific information, mainstream activities and report for quality assurance.
